As a renter, most leases require some type of pet deposit or signed agreement before the pet can move into the resi- dence. Rental properties may also have breed, size or weight restrictions on pets. We strongly recommend that you speak with your landlord about your plans to temporarily foster and how any guidelines and/or restrictions may apply prior to taking home an animal.

All owned animals three months and older are required to be vaccinated for rabies and if residing in Alachua County they must be licensed.

No animal will be fostered by persons having a history of giving away or selling animals, or a history of neglect. No animal will be fostered by persons who mislead or fail to provide accurate information on the foster application. Animal Resources reserves the right to Inspect the property where the animal will reside prior to approval or while fostering an animal.

I certify that the information listed above is true and correct to the best of my knowledge.

By signing below, I hereby accept a position as a foster at Alachua County Animal Resources, upon the following terms, conditions and understandings.

1. My services to Animal Resources are provided strictly in a voluntary capacity as a foster, and without express or implied promise of salary, compensation or other payment of any kind whatsoever.

2. My services are furnished without any employment-type benefits, including employment insurance programs, worker's compensation accrual in any form, vacations or sick time.

3. I will familiarize myself and comply with all policies and procedures applicable to volunteers at Animal Resources. I understand I am expected to strictly adhere to these policies.

4. I understand that Animal Resources may terminate my services as a foster at any time, with or without reason and without a notice or hearing.

1. I understand that the handling of animals and other foster activities on behalf of Animal Resources may place me in a hazardous situation and could result in injury to me or my personal property. On behalf of myself, and my heirs, personal representatives and assigns, I hereby release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Animal Resources and its director, county officials, employees and agents from any and all claims, causes of action and demands of any nature, whether known or unknown, arising out of or in connection with my foster activities on behalf of Animal Resources.
